Hi,

We have a server running Windows 2003, we have 10 workstations connected to this server.

We wish to set-up two of those 10 workstations as client stations with complete access to the local intranet, but want to block them from accessing any sites on the internet; the other 8 should be able to access the internet.

Is there an EASY way to do this?

Thanks.

block their ip at the router

Give a person a fish, they eat for a day. Suggest they internet search and they learn a skill for a lifetime.

create a computer OU for that group and then chage the proxy for the http proxy address. change it to the home (127.0.0.1)

the path to that setting is:
User Configuration
Windows Settings
Internet Explorer Maintenance
Connection
Proxy Settings

then check the box and put in the home IP
then you should be all set

you could also create an OU for these two computers and use group policy to restrict Internet Connections. The path is:

user configuration
Administrative Templates
System
Internet Communications Management
Restrict Internet Communication

This is what we did for our front counter sales terminals and it works like a charm.
