Best config for local DNS server

Hi All
Quick question on "best practice" for DNS.
We have two servers running DNS on our LAN, I'll call them Server1 and Server2. Both are on pretty much 24/7, rebooting once a week to run chkdsk on drive C (but on different days to one another).
So, on Server1 should I set the computer's DNS client to use itself or Server2 as it's primary DNS server? Or does it make no odds?

Ok, so if both servers are running DNS, I would suggest to configure the clients to use both DNS servers. So if one of the servers is unreachable, the clients will use the other configured DNS server.

Hi
Thanks for your reply. I do indeed have them both configured to use both, my question is whether each client "should" have itself as the primary server or the secondary server?
Cheers

Itself? No! The clients normally didn't act as a DNS server.
And what is an inhouse DNS server for? To resolve the names of inhouse servers and clients to ip addresses. By configuring forwarders at the DNS server, the server caches the DNS requests of the clients, to reduce the traffic for DNS and get faster replies.
