I am using windows 2003 & 2008 server on IBM server with RAID1. I want to take your kind suggestion about backup system in case of failure.Is there any software which can backup whole operating system just like norton ghost.
Whats your practical experience says ...please guide me.

ntbackup is built into the system and is free.

That's terriable back- up for a system! to get an entire back -up including your OS go to (if you have windows) back- up exe and go to full back- up. For best results. This ensures that you can be secure in case of a hard drive failure!

There are a few programs like ghost. Ghost is fine if you like it and know how to use it. See Acronis, G4U and almost any linux with rsync or dd.

Ntbackup should be part of your recovery and daily backup plan.

It has some features that no other's can copy exactly. It allows more easy hardware changes.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10
