SOHO network with dedicated Server2003 and 5 XP Pro workstaions. Workstations have specific programs that must be installed locally. Even after logon to server and with administraive priviledges, the workstation will not allow me to install these programs. I can't even upgragde the monitor driver after adding a new flat panel. Any suggestions to resolve this problem would be welcomed. Right now I am considering reformatting the workstation hardrive and re-installing all the local programs that I already have plus the new software as well.

It might be the GPO that is stopping you from installing? Probably a few ways to go. Might change each workstation from a domain workstation to a workgroup and try it. ? Just a thought ?
