Hi,
I am currently having Xeon 3.0 Server (single CPU) with win-20003 server & 1 GB RAM. I am using this server to connect about 10 thin client nodes using this server.
Since my overall speed is slow I plan to add one more CPU (dual CPU) & increase the RAM to 2 GB. I also plan to increase the nodes to around 18.
I have few queries ?

1) Will dual CPU system have any advantage in thin client environment ? will there be any significant increase in speed of nodes ?
2) Do I need to configure Win-2003 OS to enable multi CPU processing or are there any tweaks to utilize the processing power of 2 CPUs
3) I am also planning to install VMware ESX server and install Win-2003 OS under it. Will this have any impact on performance/speed.

Please guide me !

Thanks
Ravi Modi.

Q1. since all processing is done on the server dual processors and addition ram will help the servers performance.

Q2. you should already have the multiprocsess hal installed if doing hyperthreading so there should be no issues adding a processor

Q3. doing this on the TS server will have a serious impact on performance. if your question pertains to another physical server you are fine.

Imagine the power if you knew how to internet search

ESX runs just fine for a terminal server. You just need more ram.
