Hi, I am currently having Xeon 3.0 Server (single CPU) with win-20003 server & 1 GB RAM. I am using this server to connect about 10 thin client nodes using this server. Since my overall speed is slow I plan to add one more CPU (dual CPU) & increase the RAM to 2 GB. I also plan to increase the nodes to around 18. I have few queries ?
1) Will dual CPU system have any advantage in thin client environment ? will there be any significant increase in speed of nodes ? 2) Do I need to configure Win-2003 OS to enable multi CPU processing or are there any tweaks to utilize the processing power of 2 CPUs 3) I am also planning to install VMware ESX server and install Win-2003 OS under it. Will this have any impact on performance/speed.
