What do you mean "it stops working".

And what is this ADC IP you talk about?

You have a Windows 2003 DC? It is also running DNS for that domain. If so, it should be pointed to itself as Primary DNS server.

Give a bit more detail about your set up and we might be able to help a bit more.

Glen,
thanks for your reply.

PDC(10.1.7.28) windows server 2003
mail server(10.1.7.24) exchange server 2003
two ADC are in remote area-don

my PDC had the follwoing IP CONFIG
------
IP ADD 10.1.7.28
SUBNET 255.255.255.0
GW 10.1.7.1

PRIM DNS 10.1.7.28
SEN DNS (BLANK)
-------
the above was the ip conf before the server auto restart(crash)

after that the active Directory Refuse to start in the PDS with that ip config,

if i change the PRI DNS ip on the PDC to 10.1.7.24(mail server) then i can open active Directory. if i change it back then the problem comes again

now the PDC is running with mail servers ip as DNS.

all the resolving are done by mail server not PDC.

Jana
