The subject is "active directory password", but your message states you want to change the local admin password. So is this server on a domain or not? If its on a domain, just use the domain admin account to change the local admin password.

If not, and there are no other admins on the box, there are several ways to do this, but I'd recommend using a product called "ERD Commander". It is a bootable cd which allows you to diagnose problems with the machine as well as change the local admin password.

SBS2003 must be a domain to function, so it is a domain.

So which password do you need to recover then? The local admin password or the domain admin password? In your first post you said you needed to reset the local admin password... but you should know that you can reset the local admin password with the domain admin account. So is it the domain admin password you need to recover?
