Comment:

I would like to migrate the users and group accounts from an NT4 domain to my new AD - but when using the ADMT v.3 to migrate, I would get an error message.

Here's the error message:

"The target domain is not native mode. (Domain=COMPANY)"

I thought I put it on the native mode by only allowing 2000 and 2003 servers on the DC - am I wrong to assume that?

TIA.

You are wrong about that. By default, it's set to Mixed Mode. Use the Active Directory Domains and Trusts to find what the functional level is. Right click on the domain in question, and select properties. To raise the functional level, right click the domain, and select Raise Domain Functional Level.

Your right - just checked and it says mixed mode. By raising the domain level to 2003 native, will it let me pass the error message for migrating user accounts using ADMT v.3?

Yup, that did the trick. At first I thought I did the 2 way trust thing but.., it worked after my second attemp.

Thanks.
