I have setup RRAS on a windows 2003 server (doamin controller) where I created shared folders for a remote user to dial into the server. Dial in works fine. But when the user dials in, folders remain inaccessible although the user has the full permissions and security to these folders. Sometimes just one of the shared folders becomes accessible but at the moment none of them can be accessed. I already got the user to edit lmhosts and also enter dns settings for dialup.
Can anyone help me resolving this issue? Thanks.

Make sure that the dial in clients are actually getting IP's from a DHCP server. You may need to configure a DHCP relay agent for the LAN interface of your RRAS server. This will make sure that the clients are receiving IP configuration settings from your DHCP server rather than the RRAS server.
Also make sure that if you have more than one network subnet that your clients are getting the correct default gateway information.

Dialup client does get an IP from the DHCP server. Also there is a single LAN environment where we have setup a workgroup. When the remote user tries to browse through the entire network, a message appears saying computers on the workgroup are not accessible. There are several shared folders on the server but user is unable to see or access them even if that user has full rights to those folders.
Do you have any idea to resolve this?

If you are using RRAS with windows, I think your dialup clients have to be getting IP addresses from somewhere. Where are they getting them from if not DHCP or an RRAS IP pool?
Also, if you are running win2003 server, why are you using a workgroup? Don't you think setting up a small domain would be a better idea?

I got the remote client machine to join the domain instead of the workgroup and that enabled the remote client to access the shared folders. Thanks for your help.
