Comment:

My server has a corrupted NTOSKRNL.exe file. When I tried to extract the file from a CD into the \Windows\System32, it tells me access denied. I am running RAID 1. Does anybody know how to fix this?

Thanks.

(My personal try, probably not a white paper example :)
Raid 1 instead of 5 might be your luck in this case. Is it possible to hook the master hard disk up to another system? (through usb f.e. or on a test pc)
Once connected, check the security tab and ownersip, and try replacing the file from that computer.
When succeeced, test if the os starts with only this one modified disk.
If everything is ok, rebuild the raid.

I fixed it by using a 3rd party repair disc. It loaded the neccessay files, and started the system. Unfortunatly, it's only a temporary fix right now, but at least it works.
