Does anyone know what longest length your path can be in 2003 server ? Ex: c:\windows\dos\1\2\3\4\5\6\etc

You can use up to 32767 characters for that. But keep in mind, that most backup programs do have problems with more than 255 characters.

It's more of a program/application limitation as far as the number of characters. Excel for example limits the path to 256 characters if I remember correctly.

There is also the issue of consuming all of the directory pointers in the master file table which will result in no more folders files being able to be stored on the drive though there is space to do so.

255 is the max before you start having problems.
If your path is longer then 255 chars the security tab will be missing from the folders and files
