This is what I want to accomplish:
1. create a new folder called " My Folder" on the file server. (no trouble in this step >_<2. redirecting the PC folder, "My Document", to "My Folder", but not the "My Picture" folder and "My Music" folder.
For example, when I click the "My Documents" on my PC, it will open the "My Folder" on the file server, not the actual "My Documents" on my PC. But If I click "My Picture" and "My Music", it still open the original folder on my PC.
3. I don't want users to be able to delete anything in "My Folder". However, they can create, edit, and read files.
4. obviously, only certain users can go into the "My Folder" and do things.
Following is what I did:
1. I give full control to the "System" group and "Creator Owner" group of the "My Folder".2. I set up the privilege in the "Sharing" tab. This is where I got a little confused, I only have three choices, "Full Control", "Modify", and "Read".
3. I click through the GPO and set the "redirecting my documents" option to point to "My Folder".
The only time I success is when I give everyone full control for "My Folder". Not a good idea to give full control to everyone!
Hello!
