How to know, the operating system is 32 bit or 64 bit O/S. can any body clear my doubt.

The machine will show that when it boots. Or, right-click My Computer, Properties.

I have seen there also, i am not able to find out. there it is showing the O/S naming and service pack but, the bit it is not showing. how to find out this thing.

a quick google search turned up the following:
"To find out which operating system your computer is running, first click Start, and then click Run. In the box that appears, type winver, and then click OK. The window that appears will show you which version of Windows your computer is using. If you see 64-Bit Edition in the product name along with Windows XP then it is 64 bit otherwise it is 32 bit"
