right now we are running a trial version of 2003 server and are very happy with it, so we want to buy it, ive been reading up on cal and purchasing options but it still doesn't make much sense to me. we are an office of about 30 ppl, have 10 servers or so, and want to start using 2003 right away on 2 servers, and over a year or so move the majority of them to 2003.
given the scenario, what is the best (cost effective) way to purchase licenses for our company, thanks in advance, any help is appreciated!

30 users and 10 servers?? I have to ask, why so many servers? Do you have many branch offices?
It is going to be expensive to get Windows server for all of them, because the 'C' in CAL stands for client, not server. Licensing options vary country to country but I think you will need separate copies of Windows 2003 server on each server. BTW, are you running Exchange or MS SQL?

we have so many servers because we have the need for the services... even still almost all servers perform 2 or more vital functions, we are a very tech-oriented business....
anyway, we are running domino r5, and I was primarily wondering whether we should purchase the per seat, or per server option, which would be more cost effective? thx
