I have three worksheets, named X, Y, Z, that contain data to be looked up.
On my main page, I have a cell that contains the NAME of the worksheet I want to look up. Let's assume the value of the cell is Y.
Now, I want to create a formula to lookup a cell A1 on the sheet referenced above.
I realize I could use the formula (some of it is missing): =LOOKUP(value,'Y'!A1,....
but in this case I want the value of another cell to specify the sheet name; I don't want a constant value for a sheet name in the lookup formula.
Help!

It doesn't really sound like you need a formula. Why don't you just hyperlink the cell to a "Place in this Document" and specify the cell reference there?
