I'm able to surf the web with no problems till suddenly opening a web page results in "The page cannot be displayed" type of error. This is now the case for all web activity surf, downloads and etc.. My only known fix is to reboot the PC and all is well untill the next time this occurs. I like to open more than one site at a time and wounder if this is related to this problem? I have W2K, IE6 all with latest updates. Norton Anti and ZoneAlarm installed. Tried Reinstalling IE6 Fix to no avail. Need guidence.

Hello,
What kind of connection do you have? How long does it take after you restart for the problem to occur again?
Get back with me.

Hi,
I have a 56k dialup with MSN. Normally running at 50.6kbs. I'm using USR a hard modem. The time before occurrence varies between 20 min. to hours later. All my ISP setup parameters appear tobe in order but it seem as though I'm not receiving or sending data. I can query the modem so that's O.K..
Dial software seem to work too.#$^*869, Jerr

Hello,
Hmm... interesting. I don't think its a software problem. I would first make sure that the phone line is completely connected on both ends. If that isn't the solution, I would try another modem. They are fairly inexpensive ($5-15) at any computer store. Or you could try www.PriceWatch.com, they have the best price findings on the web.
Sorry for the little to no help. =(

Your zone alarm...Is it pro? and do you have privacy settings set to high?...there is a known issue with zonealarm with the privacy settings on high...not sure if that is your problem...try just hitting the refresh button or lowering privacy settings to medium..that is where I have mine set and I hardly ever have problems and i hardly ever get popups.
Good luck

I've tried a different modem and removed ZoneAlarm (free version) before without any results. I'll keep probing.Jerr, Thanks for all your help!

I think I've seen this problem many times. I don't think it has anything to do with your modem nor zone alarm. I have to run out right quick but you can email me at delevation@yahoo.com for further information. Make sure to put Working IE6 stops responding
in the subject line so that I don't mistakenly delete your email. Thanks

Hey guys try this it works. After making a restore point start xp in safe mode and use search and find "internet logs" open the file and delete all of them. Restart in normal mode and zone alarm will have you reset all program authorizations again. Whala, problem solved.
