wordpad.exe - entry point not foun

I have a problem starting wordpad that I need to resolve. I'm getting a "Entry point not found" error citing shlwapi.dll as the culprit. how can I fix this without reinstalling the OS. I already tried running the repair option via setup disk.

that error usually relates to a service pack needed. This does not sound like a OS problem to me. See if there isn't a update for the Office version you are running.

If everything else seems to work OK, try putting on a fresh copy of the DLL and wordpad. C:\winnt\system32\write.exe C:\winnt\system32\shlwapi.dll M2 If at first you don't succeed, you're about average.
