I use a Negear wireless adapter on my laptop and a Buffalo wireless router that is wired to the DSL modem. I use the wireless only for surfing the internet and don't network with any computers.
I find it difficult to understand the encryption method provided in the pc adapter manual and also for the router, and have therefore not encrypted my adapter or the router. The nearest building around me is about 200 feet away and many concrete walls in between.
So I'm wondering when I surf wirelessly, can anyone infiltrate my computer? If my situation is indeed vulnerable to infiltration, can someone please direct me to some step-by-step "Encryption for Dummies" instructions?
