Why would you need that unless you are trying to hack networks and or steal data?

What!?! i have my own access point, windows 2000 doesn't have a program that allows you to access password protected wifi routers like XP does and i like to keep my router safe with a password. for my laptop i have a broadcom program that lets me do this but it won't work on my desktop.

ok, after reading my first post, i guess i had some bad wording, let me try to reword it the way i meant to say it. Ok see you know XP has the wireless taskbar program that allows you to use your wireless adapter to access wireless routers and connect to them, well windows 2000 doesn't have that program built in, so i was wondering if anyone knew where i could find a program that could do this as a substitute. what i meant by find wireless access points i meant the one i have an when i said enter the password i meant give me a place where i could enter the password for my router like in XP. sorry for the confusion

I have a Belkin, reasonably current, usb wifi-adapter that comes with a software CD (drivers etc.). The "package" of software includes hot-spot/wifi access detection capability. If you downlaod the equivalent software for your usb kit... will it not include similar?
Perhaps visit the web-site for your adapter and se what they have to offer - by way of drivers/utils etc.?

The devices sw should give you the ability to do this (or at least 99% of them will IE linksys/belkin/etc all do this for you unless you disable it so you can let Windows do it). Sorry about the above comments I can see you are asking a legit question, but, some arent
