Wireless problems w/ Linksys WPC11

I have a Linksys WPC11 (ver 1) PCMCIA wireless card in a Dell Latitude laptop trying to connect to an infrastructure 802.11b WiFi network with 128-bit WEP encryption. I got the 'Wireless Configuration Utility' from Linksys to find the network, and it's successfully sending and receiving packets. However, NO web applications (IE, file-sharing, etc) will successfully find the internet. I'm using 128-bit Open WEP encryption, and have entered the alpha-numeric key in the configuration utility. I also upgraded to SP4 b/c I heard the original op sys couldn't handle the security. A PC running Win XP and a MAC G4 are successfully using the wireless network with the encryption. Why can't any apps access the wireless network in the notebook?

Can you ping the IP address of the router? Also, did you having connecting using a hard wire before, and did that work, and if so have you tried hooking it up again with a cable to see if it still works?
