Hello. I run a wireless network between 1 PC and 2 laptops. I need to wirelessly transfer files from the laptops to the PC. I have not figured out how to do this. Can someone give me detailed advise on how to acheive this? My router is a D-Link 614+ and my adapters are D-Link 650+. Thanks.

Well if they all share internet, You could transfer them over AIM :), but the good way...

1. Make sure all computers have the same workgroup name. And are on the correct ip's and subnetmask (ip: 192.168.1.1, 192.168.1.2, etc... Subnet: 255.255.255.0)

2. Go into Network Properties and enable file sharing. Then it may ask to restart, so do..

3. Open "My Computer" and right click the harddrive you wish to share, and go to "sharing" under the popup menu. Enable sharing and give the drive whatever name you wish. Make sure you have done this on all computers.

4. Now on whatever computer you wish to put files on from another, open network neighborhood and find the computer name you wish to get files off of. Navigate the computers directories untill you find the file and simply drag them onto your desktop or wherever you want them.

*Note: If you do not see the computer in Network Neighbor hood it may be because the network hasnt refresh, but in the "Address" box at the top you can type the computer's name like this "\\computer" and it will bring up the computer is all network/sharing is correct

Hope this helps!

Thanks foir the quick reply. What you described does not work for me. I think i should tell you that the PC runs Windows 98 SE while the laptops are on W2K. I got as far as #3. Thanks

Shouldn't matter about the os, enable sharing, make sure they are on the same subnet, and you should be able to just drag n drop in win explorer thru net neibourhood.

When i go to network neighborhood, i see "Entire network". I click on that and get a message saying unable to view network. I have enabled sharing on my 2 laptops. Any other suggestion? Thanks.

sounds like you don't have netbuie installed or enabled, could be the pc's are not on the same subnet/workgroup.
