I have a Dell Latitude D505 running W2K Pro SP4. I am trying to set up a wireless connection. I have 2 onboard NIC's (Dell Wireless WLAN 1350 Mini-PCI Card and Intel Pro/100 VE. When I go into "My network places", there are 2 Local Area connections, one for each NIC. However, when I right click the Wireless NIC and select Properties, I only get the "general and sharing" tabs. I don't see anything regarding wireless. I have worked on a W2K system in a while, most of our laptops are XP so I really don't have this problem, except for this particular laptop. Am I missing something. I don't remember having this problem before with setting up a wireless using W2K.

XP SP2 adds that wireless tab; I don't believe its available on Windows 2000. Dell bundles a wireless utility with their cards though, so this shouldn't be an issue. Just use the utility that they provide. There should be an icon that looks like a broadcast tower in your system tray if its installed. If not, download it from Dell; it will be part of the drivers package.
