Hello something very serious has happened. Whenever I insert my LinkSys Wireless Card into my 02Micro CardBus the power light just flashes off and no network controller can be detected. Why would my computer give it power for 1 second then just disable it?

Did it used to work? What happened to cause it not to work? Did you install it correctly? (Software before device inserted the first time, please)

I would say borrow another card and see if that works. If not we can pursue this further. If it does, steal that other card!!!

I have tried the card on my moms labtop and it works fine, there is NOTHING wrong with the card. It is the Card Bus, PMCIA slot

Or the drivers for it. Anything amiss in control panel? Is it recognized there?

Ok for listen.

The card bus is fully installed, and it doesn't even matter if I have the drivers for the CARD or not, the fact of the matter is, when I plug anything into my card slot, it loses power in one second, to me it seems like the computer just shuts it off.

Your battery may be getting weak.

The battery actually supplies power to the computer even when it's plugged into an outlet.

If the battery is dying, it could start turning off peripherals to save power for the mainboard.

I have the same problem with my Toshiba A70 satilite/MSI CB54G2...its been driving nuts!!!I think that it is a problem in the registry but I haven't worked it out yet!! I think that buying another brand card will be the less painful answer :-)
