Hi jas

I think it would be advisable to uninstall both WinZIP and PhotoShop, and then start again.
Install PhotoShop first, and make sure it is working okay, and then install WinZIP.

Good luck

Open up Winzip, go to Options then Configuration, then click on the associations button and select what file extension you want to open with WinZip.

I uninstalled winzip thinking this would solve the problem but nothing changed - i try to install photoshop from the cd and it tries to use winzip to "unzip" this program by using winzip's file unzip box to show where the program will be placed. I need to know how to stop the computer from doing this.

What is the file you are using to install PhotoShop ?
Is it a setup.exe ?
If it is a self-executing setup file, it might just be trying to unpack to a temp folder ?
Try this...
1. Create a new folder on your hard drive called PS_Install
2. Run the Photoshop file from the CD, and choose to unpack to your new folder
3. Go to the new folder, and see if there is another setup.exe there, and then run that one

Good luck
