Okay, this is starting to bother me ... In Windows 2000, every time I mouse over (I have single click icons set and do not intend to change that) a compressed file, be it zip, rar, ace, etc., My computer seems to have to scan through the entire file before i can do simple operations such as copying and pasting it to another directory, or even right-clicking it and choosing properties! I use the same version of WinRAR under both Win98 and Win2k ... I have single click icons checked in Windows 98, and this does not happen, so why does it insist on scanning the entire archive in Windows 2000?
Help?
Thanks if you have any ideas ... I have scoured through the WinRAR settings menus, and i can't see anything that would be related ... maybe a registry tweak? Maybe I am blind and not seeing the 'don't friggin scan the file' option?
