I'd check for a virus (namely Sasser) and if no virus found, have you recently installed any Active Directory connectors on the server (for Exchange)?

Could also reapply the latest SP (namely SP4) as this has been known to fix problems with LSASS.exe and it either terminating unexpectedly or running at a high CPU util for a long time.
