Hello, Every time I start up my computer after about 15-20 seconds later (after windows finishes loading) an error message pops up: "winlogon.exe has generated errors and will be shut down by windows, you will have to restart the program." well the computer works fine even though it crashed and closed. So I bring up the processes list (ctrl-alt-del > processes) and there is winlogon.exe running... Even though I didn't restart it. There is no blue screen of death when I get the error, just a little program error window. I don't have a virus as I keep my antivirus software up to date. So, what is going on? Is there something I can do to make it stop crashing?This happens every time I boot up. I'm running win2k sp2 and I have 512 megs of ram. good amount of remaining resources. Your help is appreciated.

It sounds like Microsoft client is not working properly. Have you tried to reinstall the clients and or protocols

files can get hippe not only due to virus but even if they get corrupted if your file is corrupted you may replacing that file from windows or try reinstalling sp2 or reinstalling w2k or try this if your primary partion is FAT & not NTFS: copy the file winlogon.exe from your friend system then delete the file in your system by booting from w98 startup disk then copy the file in its place ... & boom your problem is solved ...
