Reply: (edit)Winlogon should not be using any of your processing power/time. This may mean you have a viral infection of one sort or another. Install/update your anti-virus. Download, install Ad-Aware, Spybot S&D. Update them and run full scans. Also - take a look at this symantec article:- http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ent-security.nsf/552ba2f7636bedf088256818006f78bf/372b33a156d5a78f88256a220027a9c2?OpenDocument&src=bar_sch_nam Or do a search on their Web Site for winlogon. Good Luck . . .

Reply: (edit)I had the same problem today, on my win 2K pro workstation. I think I found out something tha might be usefull... ;) It seems that this occurs when you have Norton AV autoprotect enabled, and try to run a software taht uses a C-Dilla Licence management (f.i. 3Dsmax, ...) I am a french user of "Encyclopedia Universalis" that I had not launched for a long time, and it appeared to be the cause... my sources: http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ent-security.nsf/9d94c8571a91ba4788256bf3007f62b5/cd3455516fad53e488256c5500782d1f?OpenDocument&src=bar_sch_nam http://forums.devshed.com/archive/34/2003/12/3/88445 hope it helped ;)

Reply: (edit)UPDATE !!!! If the cause of your problems is the same, you might be interested in the C-Dilla software upgrade, that worked out perfectly with my Encyclopedia. It was not so easy to locate, since no record of it was to be found on the support webpage, unlike the major CAO softwares... I found it here: http://www.3dc.dk/downloads/filer/c_Dilla3_27/view and: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=2524942&linkID=2475161 if one can spare some efforts... ;)
