I used to have Zone alarm installed but I've removed it... I currently don't have any firewall and I even tried disabling Norton AV but still no go. How can I troubleshoot this?

Reply: (edit)Holy Chimichanga! I did a search on Google for the error I found in event viewer "ID 20" and found this> I shut down Exchange Information Store, ran the updates and It Worked!!!!! Not sure why Exchange 2K maps an M: drive but it appears to be the culprit... -------- Event ID: 20, Source: Automatic Updates Application Log Event Source: Automatic Updates Category: Installation Event ID: 20 Type: Error Description: Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update. - Qxxxxxx: Security Update (Windows 2000) - Qxxxxxx: Security Update (Windows 2000) Cause This issue may occur if some of the fixes try to find or create temporary folders on the M: drive of Exchange 2000. Work Around Stop the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service or remove the M: drive mapping before applying the updates from the Windows update site. After the updates are installed the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service should automatically be restarted and the M: drive remapped. To un map the M: drive run the following command from the command prompt: subst m: /d Alternatively, download and apply the patches manually. ----------------------
