I have just got a new machine with W2K professional installed. And I can not get the Windows key to work.
I have tried Windows key + E to start the explorer and also Windows key + M to minimize all windows. It does not work.
If I try this when having Notepad open it will print the e and m character in Notepad and it does not seem like it is reacting to the windows key at all.
I have also tried to press {Ctrl} + {Esc} to open the start menu with no luck either.
Finally if I press the windows key alone then it seems to be recognized because then the Start menu opens up.
I appreciate any help given. Was thinking could this be a computer problem rather than a W2K problem? Beats me.

Chances are the windows logo key was disabled. Sometimes done to prevent users from accessing certain applications. Check your registry using regedit (start, run, type regedit on box) and back up FIRST:
Local Machine\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Keyboard Layout\Scancode Map
Right click on Scancode Map and delete it.
It won't work until you restart your system.

Thanks for your tip, but I so not have Scancode MAP under Keyboard Layout in my registry.
All I have is:
Keyboard Lauout\DosKeybCodes
Keyboard Lauout\DoskeybIDsI also have a lot of numbers under Keyboard Layouts....not sure what they mean.
