I just got a new machine. It has windows 2000 premium on it. Anynow, every time I start the machine up or reboot it, the Windows Installer box comes up and it asks me to search for the data1.msi file for Office 2000. Office 2000 was already on the machine when I got it, but since I was getting this error I just brought in my personal Office 2000 disc to get that file it was wanting. I found it, but it won't accept it. Is there any way to get Windows to stop coming up with that screen every time I reboot? It won't even let me remove the program. Thanks, your help is immensely appreciated!

go to start and run MMC /a and then add group policy snap-in and then choose local computer and then when you see Local computer policy go ahead and expand it and follow below computer configuration-administrative templates-windows components-windows installer... if i'm correct, you should see disable windows installer option being the topmost one.... this should do it...
