windows installer error comes up when I try to install a casino game- Already tried reinstalling msiexec.exe and running regserver in safe mode-both failed- It seems that I cannot manually enable the Windows Installer service in administrative tools-I am the sole administrator on the pc.. The error says"unable to install installshield scripting runtime"-is it the software or perhaps something i have done in permissions or services?
Try that link for help. I'm going through the same thing with two Windows 2000 servers right now. The fixes worked on one machine and are failing to work on the other. That's the best run down of all possible fixes I've found so far. When all else fails, rebuild the machine. It is Microsoft, after all...
