Hi.
I was wondering if anyone could help me with this. I'll give you all a little setup info.

I live in a student apartment where they already have the unit pre wired for internet.
there is 4 rooms and all my roomates have a computer pluged in running win2000 or winXP.

All the computers plug into a Dlink Ethernet Switch and that switch is pluged into some other device in the apartment basement that supplys us with internet. (Internet works fine)

My problem Windows file sharing...
80% of the time when I go to My network places or network neighboughthood it either doesn't see other computer in my apartment or it see them but when ya click on them nothing happens and it gives you a error.

So on my roomates computer I try click the start button , then run
and type in something like

//T-boy/D-ftp

D-ftp being one of my shares on my computer
This works more offen but not all the time.
Also my one roomates labtop never seams to connect to anything.

Then to make this all even more weird one of the computers in the apartment can always seam to see my //T-boy/D-ftp share.

Anyone have any idea on this?

I am not a newbie here. I have installed the OS and setup pretty much everything on all my roomates computers. I don't understand why this doesn't work.

Oh.. P.S. There has been days where everything works fine..

Couple things.. Are the computers always turned on? How did you set the Share and File Permissions on each computer's shared folders?
