i have this craaaaazy old laptop that was givin to me from a friend, its a P1 133Mhz, 64MB ram, 1.34GB hard drive lol. Now it has windows 2000 installed and it runs pretty smooth for some reason. Now i wanted to use the pcmcia port and use a linksys wireless adapter (WPC54G) (there is no ethernet port) i installed the software and everything is dandy, now windows 2000 just does not see that i physically placed in the card.....

Now i decided ill just install windows 98 it will run better anyways cause of the slower hardware, the thing is there is no floppy drive, only an unbootable cd drive, there is a external floppy drive port on the back but i have no idea the name of this port and when i google it all i get is usb external floppys. so my question is how can i get the pcmcia to work and what is the name of the port?

PC had been Sold, laptop Has been Sold, now i have a wonderous Macbook thanks to school i needed to convert but i couldnt have been happier, go macbook go macbook go :P

32bit Card support must be built into the Laptop motherboard via the PCMCIA Controller chip, it is not an addon.

Are you sure it is a floppy port, quite possibly it is a docking sation/port replicator port!

16bit PCMCIA Cards are usually 2Mbs speed see:

Maybe it has a swappable drive bay ? many early Lappies came with that function due to MS-DOS/W3.x/W95 being available on floppies...
