I tried to install 2 games for Windows 95 on Windows 2000; tthe game "pirates" from funnybone interactive is not working. No help is found on the internet, all possibilities acc. to Windows 200 help are checked. The setup is interrupted at the end, if i try to start the start32.exe program file i get the message "fileio handles error". If i try to open it by using APCOMPAT.exe i get an error about the msvcrt.dll file. does anybody can help me?

most windows 95 games aren't compatible on windows 2000.
windows 95 has the original DOS underneath it.
windows 2000 does not. it is basically Windows NT 5.0.
most NEW games will work on NT systems though.

Give it up. It MAY not even run under Win98, but 2000 IS a lost cause. Get an old drive, or make a partition on your current drive & make a dual boot system with Win95 or 98 on it, just for your old games.
