Here is a good error.

I have this user who needs access to a mainframe system. We use a 16bit emulation program to connect with our mainframe allowing sessions to happen. Well recently we've moved to Windows 2000 and cannot get the program to work right. The program IRMA for the Mainframe by Attachmate opens just fine. But when he clicks on the menu bar the program freezes and generates this error:

Emu has caused a general protection fault in module KRNL386.exe.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Huey

2000 doesn't have real DOS, and therefore doesn't work well with 16-bit (DOS) programs.

I don't know a work-around other than using an earlier OS.

Attachmate has several version of the DOS Based Main Frame Connection program

Most likely the previously installed Version of Attachmate is NOT compatable with the Upgraded Windows.

I would remove the current Attachmate Client. (You can SAVE the Profile for the Session). Get the most current Attachmate Version FOR Windows 2000,XP. Installed, make the required Connection Settings, import the profile back in.

Their Web Site has a Knowledge Base you can search against. ok..
