Does anyone know how similar win2000 (NT 5) is to NT 4.0 (SP5). I have Windows 2000 right now and I would like to know if I am able to easily run games and other applications that say they are for NT 4.0 because they were created before win2000 was released.

Win2000 and Win NT are somewhat different. I am currently running Win2000 on my PC and some of the programs that I have will not work on my Win NT machine, even though Win2000 is based on Win NT technology. Win NT is more stable, but its a pain in the behind installing it. Win NT doesn't automatically detect drivers like, sound, video, etc. you have to manually go look for them and install them. With Win2000, it usually finds drivers automatically. If you want to swtich to Win NT, I recommend making an image of your Win2000 machine so that if you don't like Win NT for some reason, you can easily restore Win 2000 in about 10 mins...using prog. Ghost 4.0/5.0
Hope I helped :)If you need more help email me swluv1999@aol.com....i will be more then glad to help you!
