windows 2000 upgrade

i choose to upgrade from win 98 to win 2000, every thing went well till the 1st system reboot with the blue screen asking me to insert cd labeled win 2000 professional while i have that cd in the drive and i hit enter , nothing happend any ideal why this is happening?

My first guess (without getting other details) is that you need to point it to the folder it's looking for. Obviously it needs file(s), but I am guessing it can't find them with the default location when you put the cd in the drive and try to continue.

Let me guess it is a home made copy of RC3 build 2186.
That wont work unless you copy the entire contents of the disk to your local hard drive.
You CAN get it read from the CD if you type
%winnt.exe (located on the root of the disk)
It takes alittle more time to install but it will install... and hey that message about smartdrive not beng loaded take it seriously because the file copy process alone will take an hour. Give yourself 2 hours to complete the install if you have never done it befor. Me, its my job.

Uppgrade! Copy everything to the hard drive ( folder win2k)( home made is good? ) Go to the runn button | browse the folder | find winnt32.exe |itīs working ok | itīs take about 80 - 120 minutes to complete the uppgrade like this.
