Hello
In my computer laboratory I have installed a Windows 2000 Advanced Server with Terminal Server serving 20 clients connected to it. It works well with 1.2Gb RAM and Pentium 4. However in 1 week period the RAM usage increases upto 1.5 GB and then the system crashes. After rebooting everything be OK. What could be the problem and I will appreciate any suggestions...
Thanks a lot

My server has a RAM of 1256 Mega Byte. When I check the Memory Usage History from Windows Task Manager, it is shown that the memory usage is about 1500 MByte. However during at that time, when I have calculated the total proceses mem usages, it is about at most 400 MByte.

Your virtual memory/swap file/page file is nto set up correctly. Without them set up what happens is it must use the actual system memory for general nonsense that Micro$oft has put into it. (windows key + pause key) will bring up your system properties. Go to the advanced tab and then go into visual effects, uncheck everything that you don't need in there, go to the advanced tab, I would say programs for both selections, then youw ant to go to the paging file size for all drives, set that to, I would say initial size as 128, and max size 1024, if you have a generous hard drive size I would go greater.
