I recently set up a little Peer-to-Peer network between a Windows 2000 machine, and a Windows 98 machine. The two computers were able to communicate between each other without any problems, and my internet connection on Windows 2000 was working fine as well. That is untill the next day, where out of the blue, after I dialed into my ISP, it would connect, but I was unsuccesful in getting to ANY webpages, chat programs (ICQ or AOL instant messenger), or anything. I was getting an IP address however. All ping request for web addressed timed out however. I checked the TCP/IP settings for my dial up account, but it all seems to be correct. After enough frustration, i eventually uninstalled TCP/IP, and re-installed it, hoping that would help, but to no avail. At one point after doing an IPCONFIG /ALL I noticed at the end of the results, it said "NetBios over TCP/IP . . . Disabled" I then checked the little checkbox next to Client for Microsoft Networks in the dial up account properties to see if that would help. It did get rid of that particular message, but didn't solve my original problem. Can some one please let me know what you think the problem is here, and how to fix it? I thank you much!
~BY THE WAY.. it isn't my ISP, because I have a win98 partition and my internet here works fine.~
