We have about 30 machines with Windows 2000 professional connected to NT server network. When the machine boots up all the machine except for 1 seems to stay at the preparing network connection for a long time.
Any ideals why, as we are going to clone this machine to all others because we have installed all the software on it.

I doubt the problems is a slow DHCP server. The most likely reason is improper DNS settings on the clients. Make sure the Win2k Pro machines are pointed to the DC for the DNS server. (Assuming the DC is the DNS server), otherwise make sure they are pointed to the proper DNS server. What is probably happening is they are trying to locate a DC to log in and are having trouble locating one. DNS is use extensively by W2k computers to locate services so it is very important that it is set up properly.
