I have a windows 2000 server running DNS/WINS with XP Pro clients. Each PC will login fine, and see other machines in Network Neighborhood but we are unable to print from PC to PC or share files. So basically file and printer sharing is not working. I know the sharing and NTFS rights are set correctly. The XP clients were recently upgraded to XP Pro from Home Edition and a new 2000 server was added to the network. Any ideas?

Hey dillanreed,
I had a similar problem with my Win 2K Server and all of my Win XP Pro workstations. What I realized is that Win Server 2K and XP pro work great together but one problem is if you have any virus program running on all machines and server individually, than accessing another computer or its files is a problem. Solution, de-select or uncheck your anti-virus enable option. In my case, I was running Norton anti-virus on all of the machines. Doing this should clear up your problem if your running an anti-virus program that is.
Hope this helps direct you in the right path.
