I have a really weird issue reagarding printing and Windows 2000 server. I have a Windows 2000 server printer that is acting as a file/print server for my network. I have around 12 network printers setup on the windows server to share to the clients. Most of the printer are connected to the network via a Netgear print server, and on is connected directly to the network via RG-45 and cat5. All of the sudden if I try to select properties on any of the printers on the Windows 2000 server and select "Print Tst Page", I immediately get an error message. I have check the print spooler and the TCP/IP spooler settings on the server (both are fine), I can ping the Netgear printer servers, and the printer that is directly connected to the network. All of ther printers state that they are "Ready" when looking in the "Printers" window on the server. I do not believe that this is a network issue, something is just really weird with the server all of the sudden. Have any of you ever experienced something like this?

Hi Chris,

I am having a very similar situation. Have you found the solution yet? The error message I got was "test page could not print...refer to help for troubleshooting..." Something like that, not very informative at all... i tried to install service pack 4... I thought it could be related with a virus attack...

thanks,
mickey
