Comment:
The HDD reported that it is full and shut down. Now we cannot bootup, as it reaches a point and just restarts. We have even tried VGA mode.

Reply:
get a win98 startup disk to get into dos.
there type "scandisk".
if the disk is really full, then type "del filename.xxx" to delete a big file to get space free.
all commands without "" offcourse
hope that solves your problem

If you have another Windows 2000 box (Pro will do, don't need Server) move the boot HD from the server to the other box but set it up as the secondary device. Boot the second system and you'll see the server HD and can back it up (if you haven't already) and then remove drek. Don't remove things in the \ or \WINNT directories unless you know what you're doing.
The Win98 startup disk won't work if you have an NTFS file system - and if you don't have an NTFS file system you should, FAT filesystems are not secure enough for a server.
Go buy a book like Minasi's book on Windows 2000 Server - it will save you a lot of trouble.
