Comment: Hi all , I'm having a problem in all the computers where Windows 2000 is instaled. The problem is the next: when I try to copy some information into the floppy disk, the systems restarts automatically. Does anybody know how to fix this bug ? We have the Service Pack 2 installed, and the system language is Spanish. Thanks in advance!!

Reply: (edit)There is a problem with service pack 2 on Windows 2000. The system try to scan the floppy every 10 minutes. when he detect a floppy disk at the moment of his scanning, the system reboot to charge the floppy content. it is a Microdoft bug and they have a free patch fir this except that you have to call microsoft to have one and the cost for a call is about 200$. The best way to hang this is to uninstall the service pack 2 and wait for the 3. good luck!

Reply: (edit)Actually, if it's a known but and microsoft has a fix for it, you shouldn't be charged for the call. Where I work, we have pre-paid calls to microsoft. The last time I used one to fix a problem, we didn't get charge because the bug was a known problem and microsoft had a fix for us to use. Call them and ask if you will get charged. HTH Dan
