Comment: I have a K7 Master motherboard with onboard AC97 sound chip. My sound always worked fine when I was running Windows 98 2nd Edition. When I formatted my hard drive and reinstalled Windows 98, the sound did not work. I only installed Windows 98 for a day and then decided to try out my Windows 2000 Professional disk instead. The sound does not work right now, and I've tried finding drivers, but I'm not sure exactly what I should search for (I've tried AC97, K7 Master, etc.). If you can help me solve this problem I will so so happy. p.s. I already went into BIOS and made sure that my onboard soundchip setting was enabled or on automatic.

Reply: (edit)Also, when I go to the Device Manager, under Other Devices, a Multimedia Audio Controller has an exclamation point beside it. I've tried to install the drivers for this because this is probably the root of my problem, but I haven't found any. :(
