Reply: (edit)You might try a simple BIOS reset, look on the board for a jumper labled CMOS Clear, or Clear CMOS, or BIOS Reset (should be labled as such on a Compaq), and see if that works. To do this, just move the jumper into the clear position with the power off, power the PC on, wait for 3 beeps (confirmation of the BIOS reset), and power the computer off. Move jumper back to previous position, and power on. Hope this helps. BTW, this doesn't by chance have onboard video as well, does it? I know most Compaq's do, just wondering.

Reply: (edit)ok i had the same problem with compaq and win 2000 pro. first try to use a pci graphic card instead of an agp card. and second make sure that power supply has enough power to boot your computer with current settings.if you are still having problem then let me know, bye
