I have two questions:
1. When I first start my computer with Windows 2000 there is a menu saying if I would like to boot MS-DOS or Windows 2000, how do I get rid of this because it slows down my booting time.
2. I just installed Windows 2000, and some of the pictures for the icons are missing such as my computer, Recycle Bin and Network neighborhood. It would be nice to have these icons if possible.
Thank-You

check your boot.ini file, it should have the listing of os's in which it looks to boot. and as for the icons, just go to where they are in the system files and you should be able to right-click them and say sendto desktop, create shortcut.

To remove the boot delay, go to the My Computer shortcut on the desktop, right click it, then choose properties.
Now click the Advanced tab, make sure "Windows 2000 Professional" /fastdetect is selected as default O/S at the top, then set the delay for choice of operating systems from default time to 0 (zero) seconds, now click OK - that way it won't wait and will boot straight to Win2000.
Job done :-)
As for the icons you can either delete the file "shelliconcache" and windows will rebuild it on the next reboot, or download/install/run TweakUI and there's a option to rebuild icons.
Hope this helps...
Mark
