just wanted to let u guys know that if u did not disable server on your computer if its not a server, u are exposing your hard drive to the world coz win2k automatically shares your hard drive [it did that to me] u can disable it in start/settings/controlpanel/adminstrative tools/services
please correct me if i'm "rung"

You need usr/password to connect to any share on winNT and Win2K... But as you said, it's good idea to disable share if not necessary!!

This security problem is more a concern for people using Win9X versions where share may be mount without password if none is requested.

How do you disable the sharing of C: drive?

I looked under services but there's no share properties there. Only place is under computer management and when I tell the C: drive to stop sharing there it gives a message saying that sharing will recommence everytime I reboot/restart computer. Whats up with that?
