My laptop attempts to boot, it shows the windows 2000 prof boot screen, it then restarts completes a physical memory dump (blue screen) and then when it reaches the windows 2000 boot screen again it reaches half way along the progression bar at the bottom then hangs.

Can any one tell me if this a software or hardware issue.

What did you do before this happened? Usually that might provide a clue.

Or, if it just suddenly play bad, it might be a hardware or driver failure. Boot into safe mode and check your hardware & drivers.
